Saying “goodbye” for now…

… to sugar. Yup, that’s right. I’m taking a break from added/processed sugars indefinitely, and I wanted to share this with you for a few reasons: 1) this is a wellness site, so obviously I want to share about my personal wellness journey, 2) I’m an Obliger Tendency, which means I need accountability and making a public statement will force me to be accountable to this choice outside of myself, and 3) because it may encourage others who decide they want to take a break from sugar themselves. Why I don’t count calories

I’ve tried counting calories in the past. I always felt super optimistic as I entered my information into the app and it magically calculated the “appropriate” amount of calories that I need to eat every day. I would start strong for a few days or even weeks, and it would be great… until it’s not. Just like any other diet, it would eventually lose the appeal of its newness. I was not good at being consistent with tracking all of my food every day; in fact, if I knew that I went over my calories that day, I simply wouldn’t...

Obligatory first post: get to know me!

Hello and welcome to my first post! This site will be a way for me to share education, recipes, stories, and whatever else comes to mind. My long term goal is to be able to host group classes about holistic nutrition, but I’m starting small and sharing my thoughts for free. 🙂 As I spent the past few days setting up this site and figuring out what I wanted it to look like, I was thinking about how to begin.
